OOTD: Easter Sunday

Outfit Of The Day

Hello there, long time no see. So, i've not been the greatest with my blog recently. As some of you know I haven't been very well for the last month. I've barely done much and it has left me with very little motivation but here I am with a little OOTD.

So today is Easter Sunday. Regardless with what this day means so you, it just gets me excited for summer and well, chocolate!
Thankfully today was so sunny but on the cold side of things. Pretty typical as the two days I was working it was bloody warm but there you go.

I need to do a massive clear out of my wardrobe soon. Got so much stuff that isn't my style anymore or sadly doesn't fit me. So finding an outfit at the moment is not the easiest task for me.
My problem is, I buy alot of things that I think will look good but alas just doesn't work for me and it just sits in my wardrobe waiting for it's moment. The skirt I wore today was on of those sort of items.
I bought a couple of years ago in the sale at Primark as I just fell in love with the pattern but I just was not in love with it on, plus I couldn't find anything to go with it.

Until today....
I think in my stress, I had some sort of epiphany and actually managed to make an outfit for it.

 Sunglass: Market Stall
Necklace: Black Sheep Boutique
Denim shirt: My mums
Black vest: H&M
Bracelets: H&M & Primark
Skirt: Primark
Shoes: Primark

I'm sure a few of you will remember this skirt. It was basically Primark's version of the amazing 50's Americana print skirts from Prada in their SS12 collection.
Now let's be honest, I wear a lot of black. It's like my safety blanket and I think the problem with this skirt is, well, it's colourful. It just left me so confused when trying to style it.
Hey, you might think different but I think paired with the denim shirt and black vest, I think it works. Just shame the weather wasn't exactly warm enough for it!

Basically I've realised that maybe I shouldn't completely dismiss some of my old clothes. Sometimes looking back at them after a couple of years can give me a new prospective on them. Hopefully I don't fall back in love with all of them, as I really need to start selling/donating some of it.

I will hopefully try add new posts a little more often than I have and I've also set up a Depop account in the hope of clearing out some of the clothes I have. I'm hoping to put stuff up this week so please check it out if you fancy taking some stuff of my hands: @franklymsshankly

Let me know if you can think of other ways I can style this skirt and if you've found looking back at old clothes has helped you find new ways to wear it.

Thanks!

x
