Get your taste buds ready as Foodies Festival have announced a lip-smacking line up ahead of August.
The festival is entering it's 2nd decade as the UK's biggest celebration of food and drink. Situated once again in Inverleith Park in Edinburgh, Foodies Festival are whetting your appetite with an amazing line up which includes top chefs from across the UK.
Scotland's culinary elite will be on hand to showcase their skills and share insight into this year's big food trends. Some of the Edinburgh based chefs confirmed so far are Wedgwood's Paul Wedgwood, Cafe St Honroe's Neil Forbes, Scran & Scallie's James Chapmon and Kaori Simpson from Harajuki Kitchen.
Visitors to the festival can enjoy a new 'Feel Good Foods' theme this summer, with healthy living chefs and food writers joining the line-up to cook with superfoods including kefir, lucuma, freekeh, kelp and banana flour.
If you are looking for flavours from all over the world, Street Food Avenue will see that you are sorted. Hunger will be banished and taste buds tingled with the huge array of cuisines on offer. Take your pick from Japanese to Mexican, Argentinian to Korean. Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli will also be serving Italian Burritos as part of his new street food offering.
This year Street Food Avenue will have a special focus on Brazilian cuisine to celebrate the Olympic hosts. Visitors can enjoy Brazilian BBQ and Rio's favourite dish, Feijoada. If cocktails are more you thing then you can enjoy Brazil's national Cocktail, Caiprinha which is a mix of lime, sugar and Cachaça.
When it comes to drink, Champagne enthusiasts can relax in the Drink Theatre with 'The Fascinating Story of Champagne Canard-Duchêne and Pinot Noir' masterclasses. Craft beers lovers can enjoy tutorials with beers critic Melissa Cole and fans of Scotland's national drink, Whisky, can join in the R&B Distillers whisky tastings.
Visitors with a sweet tooth can visit the beautiful Vintage Tea Room, where they will be treated to teas, handmade cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam. If that's not enough to quell your sugar craving how about checking out the Chocolate, Cake and Bake Village which will sell freshly basked breads, sponges, tarts, jellies and trifles.
If you are feeling brave, why not participate in the famous Chilli-Eating Challenge? Start of at the low end of the chilli spectrum but things will quickly get a lot hotter with the infamous Carolina Reaper.
Children can also take part in the fun of the day with their very own Olympic themed Children's Cookery School. Little foodies can decorate their very own gold medal with coloured icing, glitter and edible ribbons.
Through out the festival visitors can relax and soak in the atmosphere of the day with live music from award-winning local bands at the Unsigned Music Awards stage. The famous Giant Pimm's Teapot will be back to keep you refreshed throughout the day.
Tickets are on sale now at the Foodies Festival website which will be running on the 5th August to the 7th August. No true foodie will want to miss out on this amazing weekend!
